Hours to Go
|
We're scheduled to get the keys today at 4pm. As such, we're packing the last remaining items today (food, computers, stereo). We have the van half-loaded with packed boxes along with painting supplies.
As soon as we get the keys, we're going to head straight to the house and begin painting and preparing it for the move. We're hoping to get two coats of primer in the main kitchen and bathroom today. Tomorrow we should be able to finish two coats of color. The kitchen is going to be sort of an olive green color (more green than drab). It should look nice with the dark wood cabinets and white trim. We haven't decided what the cabinet hardware should be though. We're going to wait until it's painted before we decide. The bathroom is going to be navy blue with white trim. It's going to have a light-house/nautical theme. Should be pretty cool.
This is the last post I'll make a few days. As soon as I'm done typing this I'm going to pack up the computer. See you in a few days!

Boxes, boxes, everywhere.

Rebecca has been packing like crazy! While I'm at work, she packs our never-ending supply of stuff into boxes. We are due to sign the closing documents tomorrow at the escrow office. Needless to say, we are quite excited. Hello house! Goodbye money!

The Final Stretch
|
We're gearing up for the final stretch of our home purchase. The home inspection went well. There are some minor items that need to be addressed (2 toilets need work, gutters are clogged, moss on the roof, etc), but nothing major or expensive needs to be done. We proceeded with our offer and were able to secure a credit from the seller to fix a few items.
During the inspection, I was able to take measurements of the house along with some new pictures. Check out my photos to see them.
The bank appraiser came out today and should be providing his report to our broker within 2-4 days. Then we just have to wait for the loan paperwork to be put together. If everything goes well, we will close on Friday, June 17th. Here's hoping...
