The mayor of New Orleans did an interview with someone (I can't tell who the interviewer was). The interview is raw and has some colorful language, but appears to be a heartfelt, desperate plea for assistance by the Mayor. I can appreciate his desperation and can only hope someone heard this interview before it was censored.

As I'm sure you would have guessed the terrible events of New Orleans are headline news around the world.
Here in Australia we are closely watching what is happening with shock and dismay that so many people are dying and that any assistance has taken several days to reach those people in need.
The images and stories seen are those that one would imagine would come from a third world country not from one as sophisticated as U.S. It is just heartbreaking to see so many people who did not have the resources to leave the city slowly dying without anyone doing anything.
On a positive note I'm pleased to share that Australia has donated $10 million to the American Red Cross to aid hurricane victims and has offered to send 20 emergency specialists to help with recovery efforts. We certainly hope that our country is able to help in any way they can.
